MEXICO CITY, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Efrain Juarez has parted ways with Pumas UNAM, the Mexican club said on Monday.

The announcement came after Juarez led Pumas to last month's Liga MX Clausura final, which it lost to Cruz Azul.

"Club Universidad Nacional informs that Efrain Juarez has concluded his tenure as head coach of our first team," Pumas said in a statement on its official website.

"At Pumas, we will continue working with the same determination to achieve the objectives demanded by our history and our fans," it added.

Juarez, 38, led Pumas to 24 wins, 19 draws and 17 defeats after taking charge of the Mexico City club in March 2025.

Pumas said it would name a replacement for Juarez "in the coming days".
