RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian football legend Mario Zagallo was discharged from hospital on Sunday after recovering from a respiratory condition.

Zagallo, who will turn 91 on Tuesday, was admitted to Rio de Janeiro's Barra D'Or hospital on July 26 with breathing difficulties and spent several days in intensive care.

"After some difficult days, I'm 113 percent better," Zagallo said in a social media post.

"Thank you very much for all your support. Now you'll have to put up with me again," he added alongside a picture in which he is seen smiling with a thumbs-up gesture.

Zagallo was the first person to win the World Cup as both a player and coach. He was a member of the Pele-inspired Brazil side that won football's most prestigious trophy in 1958 and 1962.

He also guided the South American giants to the 1970 World Cup title in Mexico as coach.
