MEXICO CITY, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- A Carlos Salcedo own goal and a Pablo Parra penalty gave Puebla a 2-0 win at Tigres UANL in their Liga MX match on Saturday.
Salcedo unwittingly turned the ball into his own net just before the half-hour mark before Parra converted from the spot after Luis Quinones brought down Emanuel Gularte on the stroke of halftime.
Tigres squandered a chance to reduce the deficit when French striker Andre Pierre Gignac missed a penalty attempt in the 89th minute.
The result left Puebla with four points from their first two matches of the Liga MX Clausura season while Tigres have just one point so far.
In other Liga MX fixtures on Saturday, Atlas won 1-0 at home to San Luis, Leon drew 1-1 at Tijuana and Cruz Azul won 1-0 at home to Juarez.
